Orchid

Continuing with the flowers with water drops series for Today's Flowers...

Today's Flowers

orchid

Taken July of last year, this orchid is one of my Aunt Julie's plants in her garden. I am a person who is always having a difficult time taking pictures of orchids, but when I saw this water drop, I knew I just have to take a picture of it.

It didn't rain... it wasn't the morning dew... this was actually taken late in the afternoon after Aunt watered the plants. :D

Jellyfish in Blue

Jellyfish in Blue

This type of jellyfish is the most abundant specie in the Jellies section of the Manila Ocean Park. Not only were they at the tubular glass aquarium, they were also in this very big wall-like aquarium where the people loved to have their pictures taken.

Three

photo hunt

Ceramic Flowers

I went back to doing Photo Hunt last week, but I forgot to leave my link on the main blog, so rewind to what I have said... it's been a while since I last did the hunt, and for this week's theme (three), here's my share - a picture of three little ceramic flowers. These flowers were intended for scrapbooking (and other crafts of course), and I took them out of my stash last month as I created a personalized card for our neighbors when they had their wedding. These were about the size of a crayon's bottom, and I used the ears of one of my sister's small plush toys as the nest for the flowers.

Happy weekends!

Hibla (Strands)

Mais

{Because most of the images I have taken were stored in DVDs, I thought I wouldn't have any image for Litratong Pinoy, but just a few moments ago, I saw some corn in our table brought by my Aunt. I just took one, opened it and took a picture showing some of its hair as my entry for this week.}

Morning Dew

Morning Dew

May 2009, I traveled to my paternal hometown for the "palagip," a practice wherein the family prays for the souls of all the departed loved ones. Because I am such a daddy's girl, I cannot really let something like this pass. I wanted to be there to help them pray for my dad's soul.

Anyway, one Sunday morning, I attended the mass. It was very early in the morning (6AM), and as I leave the church, I saw this rose plant. I always bring my camera with me wherever I go, and seeing the morning dew on the petals of the flower, I bent over to take a shot. I was only able to take one shot because I spotted my grandma Aida (a very distant relative), and I had to talk to her about the prayers and the small lunch gathering over our house.

Jellies

It's been so long since I last joined Camera Critters. Anyway, I am back once again, and this month, I will be featuring pictures of jellyfishes!

364/365 - Jellies

30 December of last year, the family went to the Manila Ocean Park as our last family bonding moment. The park has a new attraction - the jellyfishes, so we didn't let the moment pass that we don't see them.

I have been struggling with the camera settings as I took pictures of marine life (before we saw the jellyfishes, we first checked out the different fishes), and at first I had a hard time picturing the jellies, but after sometime I was able to get a hang of it.

The jellies are white, but the tank changes colors in sequence, to give a more artsy look on them. I loved it when the jellies turn red, just like the one in this picture.

More jellies next week!

Spiral

Wow... it's been really long since I last participated in Photo Hunt! Anyway, this week's theme is "spiral," and here's my take on it.

201/365 - Measure Up

This picture came about one boring night last year, and realizing I still don't have a picture for my project 365, I just decided to take pictures of this tape measure. Not really a good picture - I set up the ISO quite high on this (hence the noise), and I really struggled to get it right. I guess the time and lack of enough light hindered me to get what I wanted, but for now I will be okay with this. I will just try and correct it next time.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

Sunset in Paratong

Sunset in Paratong

My picture for this week was something taken during my vacation last week. Whenever I am in my paternal hometown in Bacnotan (La Union), I always try to go to Paratong Beach to watch the sunset. This beach isn't really that beautiful compared to the other beaches as this is a fishing village, but what I love about this is that whenever I would watch the sunset, I could really see the sun disappear into the horizon.

On this visit, not only was I able to see the sun go down, I was also able to roam around, and this boat caught my attention. It says on the side of the boat, "Trust in the Lord." I'd say amen to it. Happy weekends, everybody!
